ISO 9001 – The basis for sustainable quality management

The ISO 9001:2015 certificate attests that the company Hommel Hercules Werkzeughandel GmbH & Co. KG has an established and applied quality management system.
Authorised economic operator (AEO)
Increasing globalization and the changing international security situation have prompted the World Customs Organisation (WCO) to create a global framework, the “Framework of Standard to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade” (SAFE), for modern and effective risk management in customs administrations.
At the European level, the security policy aspects of SAFE were implemented through security changes made to the customs code and the customs code ordinance.
The introduction of the authorised economic operator (AEO) is a fundamental part of the EU security concept.
An authorised economic operator has a special status.
It is considered particularly reliable and trustworthy, and is permitted to make use of special privileges within the framework of customs clearance.
The authorised economic operator status applies in all member states and is not subject to time restrictions.
The status can be separated into three variations:
• AEO certificate “customs simplifications” (AEO-C)
• AEO certificate “security” (AEO-S)
• AEO certificate “customs simplifications/security” (AEO-F)
These variations differ from each other in terms of the licensing requirements and the advantages involved.
Hommel Hercules Werkzeughandel GmbH & Co. KG, 68519 Viernheim was granted an AEO-F certificate on the 22nd February 2013.
The known consignor
Since the end of April 2013, airfreight from Germany is only permitted to be shipped, if it has been reliably secured against unauthorized access and if those with this status can load it securely into the intended aircraft. Unsecured air freight is secured by controls from air freight companies or so-called regulated agents in accordance with legal requirements.
Regulated agents are airfreight companies, carriers or other bodies that ensure the security of freight or post. The type of security controls are determined by the regulated agents or the airfreight company based on the characteristics of the air freight that is to be investigated and the legal requirements. The official accreditation of a known consignor guarantees that a company bears the responsibility for ensuring that the identifiable airfreight/air post on its premises is appropriately protected from unauthorised access or manipulation. This means that the identified airfreight of the known consignor requires no further security controls and can be immediately and securely transferred to a company that has been awarded the status of regulated agent.
We are pleased to announce that our site Hommel Hercules Werkzeughandel GmbH & Co. KG, 68519 Viernheim was approved as a “known consignor” during the audit on the 23rd April 2013 by the Federal Aviation Office in accordance with the provision (EC) No. 300/2008.
The site has been allocated the licence number DE/KC/01432-01 in the EC database of the regulated agent and known consignor (RAKCD).
